Sorrel Wood, Blessignton Phase 1 – Residential Development

MOLA are delighted to be associated with this significant residential development in Blessington Demense, County Wicklow for Cairn Homes.
Having secured a planning grant for 94no. residential units in October 2021, works finally commenced on site in March 2023.
The development forms phase 1 of a larger scheme and the show village for this phase opened in October 2023.
The residential houses provided consist of spacious 2, 3 and 4 – bedroom family homes with an excellent BER rating of A2 as well as a 2 storey Creche.
A new Circa 2.66Ha town park will provide play areas, a fitness trail, a wetland and meadow, a woodland, enhancement to an existing pond and stream.
The units have been built to the highest and most modern standards and are well insulated, airtight, use control demand ventilation and an air to heat pump system for heating and hot water.
The houses also have a low embodied carbon footprint through the use of a sustainable timber frame construction.
The scheme is due for completion in June 2024.
