And guess what? The Etherphit Passive House, Rathgar, Co Dublin also won the best single house at the Irish Building and Design Awards. To repeat ourselves the house completed in 2015 comprises an extensive upgrade of an existing 1960’s house into a fully certified Etherphit Passive House. The house is now incredibly airtight, a remarkable 0.79m3 at 50 pascals, which means that only a minimal amount of energy is required to heat and cool it. That energy comes from heat pumps and solar panels so no running cost there! Check out the beautiful polished concrete floor which runs throughout the ground floor.
