10 Hanover Quay Completed

23 February 2022 /

MOLA Architecture is very proud of our involvement as Design Architects for this prestigious office development at 10 Hanover Quay which was PC’d recently.

Located at the meeting of the Liffey, Dodder and Grand Canal Basin the design of the 8,142sqm office had to integrate with 3No. 19th Century protected structures in a sensitive and respectful manner. MOLA designed and secured planning permission for the development on behalf of Kennedy Wilson and then assisted O’Mahoney Pike, Delivery Architects, on the tender detailing. The completion of 10HQ and the surrounding public realm concludes the overall development of Capital Dock by Kennedy Wilson and is the final jigsaw piece of the Grand Canal Dock SDZ. The building makes a strong urban contribution to the streetscape of Green Street, forms a backdrop to the new Three Lock Square and provides animation and surveillance of the surrounding campshires.

A new zinc sawtooth roof is elevated over the existing warehouses providing unique and dynamic panoramic views over the Docklands. The old stables building on Green Street acts as a plinth to the new 6 storey office block facing on to Three Lock square. Careful consideration has been given to all junctions between the old and new to minimize impact on the existing and create a clear division of new works. All office space has excellent daylight through the use of a central atrium within the warehouse and large lower ground window opes.
