OVERVIEW

Following MOLA’s successful delivery of 1WML for Hibernia REIT we were retained by the client to design 2WML, considered the somewhat “punky “ younger sister of big brother 1WML. As an existing building, formerly known as the Hanover building, the works required extensive re-modelling and upgrading of the existing 5 storey office block. Additional floors were added as well as extra width creating a 9,300sqm development of grade A office space over 6 levels and 1,100sqm gym space at ground level. The gym operated by Perpetua adds to Hibernia’s ambition to create a multi-use community of facilities at Windmill Quarter.

2WML adjoins 1WML and its exciting and dynamic Townhall space, which is available to tenants of 2WML and other Hibernia REIT properties. The extensive building refurbishment required that all building facades were removed and the building envelope upgraded with a high performance facade system incorporating fully glazed and natural stone cladding elements, which are complementary in architectural expression to the adjoining 1WML.
